Endure Hardship as Discipline: She Watches Over the Affairs of Her Household and Does Not Eat the Bread of Idleness, 2015

Growing up with a mother who perseverated on the work that was to be completed for the day, and who embroidered a ridiculous amount of tea towel “sets” with women happily doing their chores, I had to ask, “How did she REALLY feel about it?” I know that she didn’t have that smile on her face all that often. Instead she suffered a nagging voice that almost constantly made her question her value, her abilities, and her purpose in life, despite the fact that she worked endlessly, day in and day out. Even her religion could not give her any respite.  Many of the statements belong to her.

Is it true that man, or in this case woman’s, worth is measured by what they manage to accomplish?
